Did your insureds receive any new gifts this holiday season that need to be scheduled?  We have different options for all your insured’s needs including jewelry, iPads, computers and more.

Jewelry can be covered on an open perils basis by scheduling each item with the Scheduled Personal Property endorsement.  Jewelry includes items of personal adornment made of silver, gold, platinum, or other precious metals. They may contain pearls, jewels, or precious or semiprecious stones.  The description of jewelry items should include color, cut, clarity and carat of stones as well as karat and color of the metal used.   No deductible applies to this coverage.

iPads, kindles and other tablet devices can be scheduled under Portable Electronic Equipment.  IPods can also be scheduled under this endorsement.  $0 and $100 deductible options are available.

Scheduled items must include a complete description and a coverage amount for each item.  An appraisal or sales slip, not more than three years old which provides a complete description of the article to be insured, is required on all items valued at $5,000 or above.

We also have a blanket coverage option for jewelry and computers.  This endorsement is ideal when the insured wants open perils coverage without listing the items individually.

The Jewelry Blanket Coverage can be used when the insured has jewelry items under $5000.  Common options include $2500 and $5000 but can go all the way up to $25,000.  No deductible applies to this coverage.  The Personal Computer Blanket Coverage covers all personal computer items, including electronic data processing hardware, peripherals, and software for the amount of blanket coverage selected. The blanket amounts start at $2500 and are available up to $20,000.  Deductible options are either $0 or $100.  It also provides up to $2,500 of coverage on computers used for business on and off the premises.
