A key component of audit processing is classification of the risk. Classification changes at audit can impact the final premium and your agency’s profitability. To assist you, we have provided these helpful tools to assigning classification.
Key factors when codes 9102 and 97050 Lawn Maintenance would apply:
1. Maintenance on existing lawns by a specialty contractor: Residential and Commercial
a. Mowing
b. Edging
c. Aerating
2. Replacement of dead plants or shrubs
3. Incidental trimming of trees, shrubs, bushes, or hedges from ground level
4. Spring or Fall clean up services (i.e. raking leaves)
5. Installation of mulch and applying weed control (i.e. over-the-counter liquid, granule, powder fertilizer and/or weed killer), when part of a lawn care job
The following operations are separately classified as they fall outside the scope of the lawn maintenance classification 9102/97050:

A payroll breakdown must be kept in order for multiple classes to apply, (if not a NPD class). Otherwise, the exposure will be placed in the higher rated applicable classification. (Percentages are not acceptable).
