Frankenmuth Insurance continues to be pro-active regarding the new Illinois workers’ compensation reform, however, the state is not moving with the same urgency.

Again, one of the most important components of the new law is employers can choose a Preferred Provider Program (PPP), which is a network of medical providers who treat work related injuries. Currently, there are four vendors who have been approved by the state to submit PPP lists. However, before the final approval, the rules need to be established and the requirements of the PPP’s need to be outlined. We are being told this could take a few more months.

We continue to review the PPP lists submitted by the four vendors, and we will make a determination as to which one we believe will provide the best care and service to all of our insureds throughout the state of Illinois. We will make the list available on our website with an estimated fourth quarter 2012 date of completion. In the meantime, we continue to encourage everyone to go to the State of Illinois website, www.iwcc.il.gov to become better informed.
