We at the Michigan PIA are dedicated to keeping our industry updated on the latest development of public policy and furthering the interest of Professional Insurance Agents and small businesses. It is for this reason on June 25, 2014 we will be hosting our Legislative Day.

This event will be held in the Mackinac Room located on the 5th floor of the Anderson House Office Building in Lansing, Michigan.  Below is an agenda for the 2014 Legislative Day.  We hope to see many of you there to interact and hear first-hand what is going on within the State of Michigan concerning the interest of the Independent Agent. Find out what PIA is doing on your behalf, and pose your questions to our panelists.

8:30 a.m.            Breakfast – Coffee, Bagels

9-9:50 a.m.         Auto Insurance Fraud Update – MI Secretary of State, FAIR Task Force

10-10:50 a.m.     PIP Reform Discussion – Alive & Kicking!  Panel discussion with representatives from the Michigan Legislature, Independent Agent companies, and the firms arguing for and against reform

11-11:50 a.m.      Insurance Industry Issues – Get updated on the hot button issues being discussed in the Legislature.  We will dive into how the Affordable Care Act will affect auto insurance.
