We introduced our Agency MVR Chargeback program in June 2012. This program was intended to assist us in managing the ever increasing cost of 3rd Party reports used to underwrite personal lines business. Effective October 1, 2013, the State of Michigan increased the cost of motor vehicle reports (MVR’s) from $7 to $8. In lieu of this increase, we will be increasing our Michigan Agency MVR chargebacks from $7 to $8 per report.
Please keep in mind if your agency issues at least 70% of all the drivers which MVRs were ordered, there is not any cost. If you issue less than 70% of the operators for which MVRs were ordered, your agency will be charged the cost of the unissued operators’ MVRs.
