As we continue to refine our auto and home product pricing to better address ever evolving market conditions we are announcing the following changes:
Insurance Score Reband
Effective 3/1/12 we modified our Insurance Score discount tiers for both auto and homeowner policies. Previously, Insurance Score Reband included eight tiers. We now are incorporating 26 tiers. Auto policies renewing after 3/1/12 and homeowner policies renewing after 4/1/12 will renew within the new tiering system. This will improve our ability to more adequately price our renewal business.
Personal Auto
Effective 4/1/12, policies where all named insureds are age 65 or older and have excess medical coverage for their Personal Injury Protection option will automatically convert to full medical coverage at renewal. This is in an effort to ensure we are receiving adequate premium for the coverage provided. If the insured is eligible for excess medical, FM-1669, Personal Injury Protection Medical Benefits Questionnaire, must be signed by the insured and maintained in the agency file for future audits.
Additionally, our Personal Auto rates will increase by 7 percent. This includes increases to No-Fault, Liability and Extended Transportation Coverages. This rate change will also be effective 4/1/12.
Homeowner
An overall rate increase of 7% will be effective at the 4/1/12 date. This change also includes an increase to protection class 8A rates and territory changes.
As we continue to move forward through 2012, your continued loyalty to Frankenmuth Insurance is greatly appreciated. As always, should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact your Underwriter or me.
