All of us within the Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance family were deeply saddened today to learn about the passing of our dear friend Gerald L. “Jerry” Stanton.  He died today, December 19, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.

As the following passage from his obituary reads:

“He dearly loved his family, the company, and the Frankenmuth community. Since his retirement, his greatest pleasure was enjoying family and friends at their lake house up north. Jerry believed in developing strong personal relationships with the agents and employees who were the key to growing the company profitably, and so it did. He was proud of its strong financial position when he retired as CEO the close of calendar year 2007.”

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 East Tuscola St., Frankenmuth, MI. Jerry’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. There will not be a visitation at church prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to Blessed Trinity Cemetery, 958 E. Tuscola St., Frankenmuth, MI 48734.
