To a policyholder, insurance should be boring.

To an insurance professional, it should be anything but.

Not only do the careers constantly challenge and reward you, they come with great stability and even greater earning potential. Not to mention, they come with an overwhelming amount of positive feelings, because you know your job is to help people get back on their feet after something bad happens.

Opportunities in the insurance industry are endless—especially right now. At this time, almost half of the current workforce is expected to soon retire, which means there’s about to be a higher demand for new insurance professionals than ever before.

To help people explore the possibility of a career in insurance, the team at Frankenmuth Insurance is proud to host an Insurance Leadership Academy. It’s a year-long program in which high school students can earn free college credit, hands-on experience and even internship opportunities.

Open to juniors and seniors at Frankenmuth High School, or within the Tuscola County Intermediate School District, a new class starts each year in September.

Currently, students enrolled in this program are spending five days a week in a classroom at our headquarters, learning more about careers like:

  • Actuary
  • Agent
  • Claims investigator
  • Loss prevention specialist
  • Marketing representative
  • Network administrator
  • Product development specialist
  • Underwriter

With direct college credit provided by Northwood University, the credits earned here may also be accepted by other colleges and universities.

Students can receive credit for high school classes, including:

  • 3rd Year Science
  • 4th Year Math
  • Elective
  • Visual Performing Arts
  • World Language

And last but not least, classroom work prepares the students to become certified in:

  • AINS 21 Property & Liability Insurance Principles
  • AINS 22 Personal Insurance
  • AINS 23 Commercial Insurance

To learn more about the program, talk to the counselor at your high school.

Applications for the 2017-2018 program are available now.
