Frankenmuth Insurance is pleased to announce Michigan Commercial Lines Director Deborah (Debbie) McDonnell joined the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame as a member of the board of directors and will serve as the Vice President.

Debbie has worked for Frankenmuth Insurance for 16 years and currently serves as the Michigan Commercial Lines Director. Debbie has experience on both the agency and carrier side of insurance and has been involved in the industry for 35 years.

“In my mind, the mission of the Insurance Hall of Fame is to recognize legends and leaders of the insurance industry and further insurance education,” explains James Wilds, Executive Consultant for Latitude Subrogation Services. “Debbie’s leadership skills, knowledge of the industry, coupled with her passion for insurance education makes her a great fit for the Hall of Fame board of directors.”

The Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame recognizes individuals for excellence in leadership, service, and contributions to improve the ability of the insurance industry to serve the public. Additionally, the Hall of Fame supports education, research, and technology that advances the understanding, public awareness, and recognition of the economic role of insurance and risk management. This includes providing scholarship money for students entering or attending a Michigan college or university in the insurance and risk management or actuarial science programs.

Debbie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University. She earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1991, Certificate in Supervisory Management in 1993, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2015, Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 2016, and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation in 2020.
