As for the crafts (power and sail) utilized on these bodies of water, Michigan ranks third in the nation with 900,000 registered boats.  Wisconsin checks in at number six (550,000) and Ohio is ninth (425,000).  What’s more, within Michigan, one-third of the state’s boat owners also own a seasonal home.   In fact, standing anywhere within the state, you are within an hour and a half drive of one of the Great Lakes!
