Your clients have worked hard and take great pride in their art and antique/collectible compilations.  You can provide them even greater value when you make certain their collections are properly protected. Below is advice about how to schedule those “hard to come by items” you’re insureds may hold so dear.

FINE ARTS – (Attach 93076, Scheduled Personal Property Plus)

Fine arts include:

  •    Works of art or articles of rarity, historic value or artistic merit on an Agreed Value basis

Keep in mind, if the artwork is valued at greater than $5,000 an appraisal completed within the last 3 years is required. If under $5,000 a full description is required.

COLLECTIBLES – (Attach 98349, Collectible Personal Property)

These items may be written on either an unscheduled or scheduled basis

Typical collections include: Auto memorabilia, clocks, model railroads, dolls, miniatures, toys and sports memorabilia

Ineligible collectibles: Watches, stamps, coins and firearms. (Coverage for these items is available with other endorsements)

UNSCHEDULED- Maximum limit of liability: $25,000. Per item: $2,000. Any item valued greater than $2,000 should be scheduled. A $250 deductible does apply. (DOES NOT include breakage of unscheduled items, unless caused by a named peril.)

SCHEDULED- Maximum limit of liability: $100,000. A $250 deductible applies. (INCLUDES breakage coverage for scheduled items)

Each application must include an inventory describing the size and general quality of the collection. A separate photo and description are required for each item valued at $2,000 or more.

*We reserve the right to require an inventory/appraisal of the collection*

Please feel free to use this guide for referencing these types of items. As always, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your Underwriter or Field Manager.
