Frankenmuth Insurance is pleased to announce several leadership changes that will become effective March 1, 2021.
First, we’d like to recognize and express our gratitude to Senior Vice President Bryan Gilleland, who will retire from Frankenmuth Insurance after more than 14 years of dedicated service and contributions to the company.
Bryan’s executive responsibilities include Administration, Human Resources and Marketing. In this role, he oversaw construction of the new Patriot Insurance Company home office building, implementation of numerous human resource programs and platforms, formation of the company’s Learning and Development function, launch of the Insurance Leadership Academy for high school students, preparation of the company’s 150th Anniversary celebrations and development of its corporate branding program. He was also responsible for corporate planning activities for more than 10 years, during which much of our existing corporate planning processes were built, including the strategic plan.
Bryan was appointed to Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company’s Board of Directors in 2019 and will continue to serve in this role following his retirement.
With Bryan’s retirement, Andy Knudsen will be promoted to Executive Vice President. In addition to his executive leadership for our Claims operations, Andy will be responsible for the Marketing and Administration functions. He has been appointed Secretary to the Board of Directors and will be nominated to serve on the Board at its upcoming annual meeting in April. Andy has 32 years of Claims management experience and has been with Frankenmuth Insurance for more than eight years. Serving as an industry expert, Andy is involved with legislative, regulatory and public information issues at state and national levels.
Tim Donnellon is being promoted from Director to Vice President of Human Resources. Tim joined Frankenmuth Insurance in 2015 and has 24 years of human resources leadership. Advocating for future industry professionals, Tim serves on the Insuring MI Future board and leads our company’s Insurance Leadership Academy.
In addition, Beth Wright will be promoted to Director of Property & Casualty Claims. Beth has 22 years of service to Frankenmuth Insurance and most recently managed the property and liability sections within the Claims department. She has championed the value of early fraud detection and oversees our Special Investigations Unit. In her new role, she will take on the added leadership of the auto, PIP and workers’ compensation units.
We are grateful for all of Bryan’s contributions to our company’s success and wish him good health and happiness in his retirement. Please join us in congratulating Andy, Tim and Beth on their upcoming promotions.
