Frankenmuth Insurance wants to ensure that vehicles with a salvaged, re-built, or assembled title, as well as those with any ride-sharing or vehicle-sharing exposure, are properly insured. As a result, we have modified our new business applications by adding a few questions that will help us underwrite these types of vehicles.
The following questions will be part of new business applications in iBIS starting on Aug.1, 2016:
- Do any listed drivers use or drive any of the vehicles in connection with a ride-sharing network for the purpose of providing transportation for a fee or compensation?
- Are any of the vehicles shared in connection with a vehicle sharing network for the purpose of providing transportation for a fee or compensation?
- Does any vehicle have a salvage title?
- Does any vehicle have a rebuilt title?
- Does any vehicle have an assembled title?
In addition, the Applicant’s Statement has been revised to clarify the information obtained through these questions only applies at the time of application and renewal. If the status of the applicant/insured’s vehicle changes at any time during the policy period, it is important they notify you of these changes so their policy reflects current and accurate information.
We hope these additional questions will provide a clearer picture of the applicant’s needs and thank you for your partnership in obtaining this information. To view the Personal Automobile Application, click here. To view the Personal Umbrella Application, click here.
