On Friday, Oct. 2, Frankenmuth Insurance suspended binding authority in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina in response to the threat posed by Hurricane Joaquin. We understand the challenges faced by our Agency Partners during this difficult time, and it is our goal to keep you updated as new information becomes available.

For that reason, we would like to inform you that the suspension remains in effect due to the ongoing threat of flooding and resulting damage from flood waters. Many areas that may have escaped damage from heavy rains could still be affected later in the week from the movement of water downstate throughout the region.

Included in the continued suspension are Business Auto, Business Auto Plus endorsement, Contractors Equipment, and other Inland Marine coverages that address flood peril. Additionally, we will not add by endorsement or bind any new business property coverages, since many areas suffered wind damage that met the criteria established by the NHC for a tropical storm.

In order for the suspension to be rescinded, waters must recede to allow claims adjusters the opportunity to inspect existing property and auto exposures, assess damages and make timely claims determinations and payments for our current exposures in the affected areas. We continue to monitor the situation closely and remain committed to providing timely updates as the situation unfolds.
