The good news is that more and more websites are being developed and discovered.  If you have received this information from us through e-mail or CD, please be sure to save it.  To view a website directly, select one of the blue website links located below.

Surfing the Web
There are more sites on the internet than what we have listed below.  You can conduct your own web search using your search engine.  If you want safety information on forklifts, enter "forklift + safety" or "powered industrial trucks + safety".   If you want information on specific hazards such as lead, enter "lead + safety."

Safety videos, DVDs and CD-ROMs are another tool to supplement your safety programs and training. Most of these companies are selling this training material. However, you can rent safety videos from National Resource Safety Center. You can conduct your own web search for similar companies. Some states safety programs(e.g. MIOSHA) have their own free safety video loan program.

    Safety video rental company where you can view the summary of each video on-line.  You can rent individual videos or for under $500 a year you can become a member and get up to three videos at any one time.

  •  Department of Transportation (Illinois)
    Hundreds of safety videos that you can get for FREE.  Many products for highway/road contractors such as work zone safety, flaggers, backhoes, asphalt paving, etc.

 INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE

Industrial Hygiene is a part of most safety programs. You may need information on air sampling, hearing conservation, hazardous chemicals, radiation, ergonomics, etc. The NIOSH site listed in our General Safety Websites has many of the answers and links to other sites. Below are additional sites that will help you find an Industrial Hygienist in your area, or start a free subscription to safety magazines that focus on these topics. The magazines are also sources for review of related products.
  •  Find an Industrial Hygienist
    American Industrial Hygiene Association. Use this site to find an Industrial Hygiene company that will visit your operation and conduct air sampling, respirator assessment, fit testing for respirators, etc. They can bring noise dosimeters and provide around the clock noise monitoring for each shift, measure exposures in spray paint booths, silica dust at the jobsite, etc. Go to their Consultants listing and consumer site, then enter the state where you are located.

  •  Industrial Hygiene News
    Magazine mostly for products such as noise and gas monitors and general safety equipment. Good articles on topics such as noise, heat stress, etc. FREE subscription.  You can see most of the articles/information if you go online.

  •  Industrial Safety & Hygiene News
    ISHN Magazine lists safety products and has good articles on various safety topics.  FREE subscription and production information.
